Privacy Policy

Last Updated: February, 2026

BrainGate ("the App") is built on the principle of purposeful friction. We believe your data should be as focused as you are. This policy explains our commitment to a no-account, privacy-first experience.

1. No User Accounts

We do not require or allow you to create an account. Your quiz progress, escalating challenge levels, and blocked app settings are stored locally on your device or within your private iCloud storage. We do not have access to your identity, name, or email address.

2. Screen Time & App Blocking

BrainGate uses Apple's Family Controls and ManagedSettings frameworks to enforce focus.

  • Privacy by Design: Apple's system ensures we cannot see which specific apps you use, your messages, or your browsing history.
  • Local Enforcement: The "gate" mechanism that blocks and unlocks apps happens entirely on your iPhone. No usage logs are ever sent to our servers.

3. AI-Generated Knowledge

Quizzes are powered by AI models.

  • The App requests questions based on your chosen topics (e.g., Space, Math).
  • No Personal Information is transmitted during this process. The AI only receives a request for a specific category of question.

4. Subscriptions & Payments

All transactions are handled securely by Apple StoreKit 2.

  • We do not collect or store your billing info or credit card details.
  • Your subscription status is linked to your Apple ID, and we only receive an anonymous token from Apple Media Services to verify your access to premium features.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

Because there are no accounts, we do not "store" your personal data on our servers.

  • To "delete" your data, simply uninstall the App. This clears all local progress and settings.
  • To stop app-blocking permissions, you can revoke access at any time via iOS Settings > Screen Time.
